Yoga Retreat: Ocean City, NJ (1974-2013)
Shanti owned and operated this Yoga Retreat, located by the Atlantic ocean. It had rooms and apartments for permanent residents and guests. Yoga classes, workshops, teacher training and weekly public meditation were held in the large meditation room. See the retreat on video here.
Glassboro Ashram: Glassboro NJ (1977-1985)
The ashram was located near Rowan College. Shanti owned and operated this facility for communal living and yoga training. Weekly public meditation was held and four classes were taught at Washington Township High School.
Prasad Health Food Store and Restaurant: Ocean City, NJ (1981-2000)
Located downtown, ½ block from Shanti's Yoga Retreat. Shanti owned and operated the store that sold natural foods, herbs, vitamins, books and a variety of holistic products. It provided daily vegetarian lunches and a monthly dinner.
India Trip (1974)
Shanti travelled throughout north and south India with six yoga students, two drivers and a guide. It was an adventurous trip, visiting many remote villages whose inhabitants had never seen foreigners before. Shanti and his students visited many holy sites and ashrams in addition to sight seeing.
Iceland Trips (1997-2007)
Shanti made ten trips to Iceland during ten years and trained yoga teachers at two local yoga studio owned by two of his students.
Shanti was invited both years to talk and demonstrate yoga and to teach meditation. Both times he received an honorary trophy declaring him the “Original Father of Martial Arts”. See Shanti's 2014 award acceptance here.
